The Bombay High Court (HC) Monday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file its say on the petition challenging the legality of arrest filed by ABIL Group founder and Pune-based businessman, Avinash Bhosale.

Bhosale was arrested by CBI in May last month in connection with its probe in the Yes bank-DHFL scam. Bhosale who is under judicial custody is lodged at Arthur jail after the special court, CBI rejected the remand application of CBI seeking further custody for five .

The agency’s probe has revealed that Bhosale allegedly received about Rs 69 crore from DHFL in the garb of consultancy services provided for three projects, without performing any service. The investigation has also found that Bhosale’s companies had allegedly received around Rs 292.5 crore from Radius Group’s Sanjay Chabbria, which it said was diverted after the group received loans amounting to Rs 2,000 crore from DHFL.

Additional Solicitor General, Anil Singh, appearing on behalf of CBI sought time to address arguments while stating that he has been served with the copy on Monday, and urged the court to grant time to file reply to the said petition.
