If any agency officer has asked Manish Sisodia to join the saffron party then he should name that officer, says West Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Verma
BJP leaders Tuesday challenged Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to appear for a narco test over his allegations that the CBI tried to pressure him into quitting the AAP and joining the BJP, or step down from his post for “lying”.
West Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Verma said if Sisodia is an honest leader he should agree to a narco test or resign for making allegations against CBI officials.
“If any CBI officer has asked Sisodia to join BJP then he should name that officer. If he can not do so, he should either prepare for the narco test or resign from his post,” Verma said in a press conference.
Another Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra said Sisodia should either undergo narco and lie-detected tests or tender an apology for “lying”.
Mishra, a former minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government, said the allegations by Sisodia, an accused in the Delhi Excise policy case, should be seen as a “shameless” attempt to “influence” the probe.
Sisodia, who was questioned for over nine hours on Monday at the CBI headquarters in connection with the alleged Delhi Excise policy scam, had claimed that he was offered the chief minister’s post if he quit the AAP.
“Pressure was put on me to quit AAP. I was offered Delhi chief minister’s post or face a jail term,” Sisodia said.
